Pamela Reynolds “Un/DONE” Mixed Media September 25-October 29, 2018
Reception October 6 4-6pm
“Un/Done” is an ongoing series exploring the contrast between order and disorder. Reynolds says: “I’ve sought to combine a rigorous geometry, most often represented with precise lines, with the unpredictability, imperfection and freedom of gesture.” For this show, the walls will be layered with paintings of mixed media on canvas created with vibrant strokes of action and movement. While the artist’s work is unique she says, “Balancing the structure of a piece with an improvisational dialogue of movement and gesture is my starting point. I’ve entitled this group Un/Done because I was seeking to make paintings that could feel both resolved and structured but in the loosest way possible.”
Pamela Reynolds is originally from Los Angeles but lived in Boston and Italy before moving to DC.
